Shane Mosley insists he will beat Pacquiao

In less than 3 weeks we will see the much awaited Pacquiao vs Mosley Fight which will happen on May 7 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

If Manny Pacquiao thinks that he will easily win his fight against Shane Mosley, he is terribly mistaken.

Shane Mosley said that even if he looked dull in his last two fights against Floyd Mayweather and Sergio Mora, Pacquiao will have a hard time beating him in their 12-round welterweight fight.

According to Mosley, he has the advantage to put an end to Pacquiao wins. Mosley is counting on his size, speed and power and he added that if a lumbering guy like Antonio Margarito can land his best blows on Pacquiao, what more if the guy in front of the Filipino pound-for-pound king is him?

“I have all the (physical) advantages,” Mosley said in an article that appeared in the website of The Ring.

“I’m the bigger man, I’m the fastest guy he’s fought. I have a longer reach. Everything is working in my favor,” Mosley added, who has a wingspan of 74 inches, making it seven inches longer compared to Pacquiao.
Mosley also has the height advantage; he stands 5-foot-9 while Manny Pacquiao stands 5-foot-6

“I just have to make sure I’m 100 percent. I can’t sit back and say I have all these advantages and not work on them. That’s what I’m doing; working on them.” Mosley said.

On the other hand, Pacquiao is not taking Mosley lightly and currently doing his intense training at the Wild Card Boxing Gym.

Pacquiao is not taking Mosley lightly because he think that that Mosley is still someone who has what it takes to KO someone. “It’s dangerous to take somebody for granted,” Pacquiao added.

Ariza makes sure that his man is always in his best condition each fight. The last 13 fights of Pacquiao turned out victory, eight of them by stoppage but not all of it is easy for him. Some of his fights was really hard up to the point where he could have given in if not for his great condition. According to Pacquiao, his fight with Margarito was one of the toughest fights he had.

Mosley, even if he is already 39 and going 40 was never been knocked out before and still has the speed of a 30-year-old. Some says that he will surely give Manny Pacquiao a very tough fight on May 7. Shane Mosley still got the power by knocking out Margarito back in 2009.

Pacquiao training cut to 120 rounds

Manny Pacquiao vs Mosley Fight will take place this coming May 7, 2011 at the MGM Grand in Nevada Las Vegas. Pacquiao is currently training and conditioning his body before their fight. Pacquiao vs Mosley fight will surely be an interesting event to watch.

MANILA, Philippines - Manny Pacquiao will have no more than 120 rounds of sparring for his May 7 showdown with Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach, said it’s more than what they need to get in top shape, unlike before when sparring rounds get as high as 150.

“We don’t need that many rounds anymore,” said Roach who started cutting down on the number of sparring rounds with the Joshua Clottey fight.

Instead of more sparring sessions, Pacquiao puts in more time in strength and conditioning under Alex Ariza and making sure he doesn’t slow down.

Pacquiao will begin his sparring sessions today at the Shape Up Gym in Baguio, against old hands David Rodela and Shawn Porter.

A couple other sparring partners were supposed to fly in, but because Pacquiao is leaving for the United States on April 2, Roach found it impractical.

The other sparring partners will instead jump in when Pacquiao begins working out at the Wild Card Gym on the first Monday of April.

Pacquiao spars on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, normally kicking it off with three to four rounds. Then it gradually increases, reaches a peak of 12 before tapering down.

Pacquiao will only spar in Baguio today and Thursday. On Friday they drive down to Manila, and may resume sparring on Saturday at the Elorde Gym in Quezon City or Planet Jupiter in Makati.

They will fly to the US on April 2.

Pacquiao and Mosley Fight

For a boxing fan like me. I think this is going to be a tough fight for these two boxers. Many people are saying that Mosley is not credible anymore but I think they are wrong. He's power and speed are still there. Look what he did in his fight against Mayweather in the early rounds. It is just Mayweather who adjust and use his strategy very well that's why he out-box Mosley.

Check out the Pacquiao vs Mosley Live Stream online on May 7, 2011.
