Manny Pacquiao or Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao in real life was born December 17, 1978, is a Filipino boxer and he is also currently a (as of this writing) politician. Manny is an 8 division world champion, the first in boxing history to win 10 world titles in 8 different weight divisions. Plus, he is also the first boxer to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes. He was also named as "Fighter of the Decade" for the year 2000's by BWAA or Boxing Writers Association of America. He is bagged The Ring "Fighter of the Year" for the year 2006, 2008, and 2009.

Currently, Manny Pacquiao is ranked as the "number one" pound-for-pound best boxer in the world by various boxing websites and news which includes: The Ring, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, NBC Sports, Yahoo! Sports, Sporting Life and About.com to name a few. He also holds the title for WBC Super Welterweight World Champion and WBO Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion).

Aside from boxing, Pacquiao has also ventured in acting, music recording, and politics. Manny Pacquiao was elected to the House of Representatives in the 15th Congress of the Philippines in May 2010, he represents the province of Sarangani – this makes him the only active boxer to become a congressman in the Philippines.
